A Mother’s Chance at a Cure

During a community outreach event at a local primary school, our team met a 37-year-old single mother from El Salvador. She was severely ill, struggling with dangerously high blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes. Our clinicians recognized signs of Cushing syndrome, a rare hormonal disorder that can be fatal if untreated but is potentially curable with proper care.

We stabilized her condition, but she had no insurance and no way to pay for the specialized testing she urgently needed.

Thanks to donations raised through the Charity Golf Cup, we were able to provide the laboratory work and imaging studies that confirmed the diagnosis, an adrenal gland tumor.

She still faces major barriers to surgery due to her circumstances, and we're continuing to help her find resources for treatment. Without your support, she would never have received the diagnosis that gave her hope.

$115 That Saved a Life

Another patient, a 55-year-old uninsured Hispanic woman, had lived for years with unexplained abnormal liver tests. She needed just one specialized test to confirm the diagnosis. Even after significant discounts, the cost was $115, which was still far beyond what she could afford.

Fortunately, the Charity Fund was able to help cover the cost.

The test confirmed Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, a serious liver disease that can be treated effectively when caught early. Today, she is stable, receiving regular medication, and finally getting the care she needs.

A donation of just $115 helped save her life.
