Celebrating the Grand Opening of Our New and Updated Health Center

Elected Officials Gather to Celebrate the Launch of a New One-Stop Comprehensive Health Center

May 16, 2025 – Gaithersburg, Maryland



The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) Health Center, formerly known as the Pan Asian Clinic, officially celebrated the grand opening of its new site at 9298 Gaither Road, Gaithersburg. Supported by a 2023 federal Community Project Funding grant by HRSA, the expanded facility aims to deliver high-quality, affordable, and culturally competent healthcare services to uninsured and low-income residents in Montgomery County.


CCACC Board Chair Mr. Yuchi Huang and Executive Director Rita Lewi welcomed guests at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which drew a wide array of elected officials and community leaders.

Representing Maryland’s 17th District, State Senator Cheryl C. Kagan and Delegates Joe Vogel, Ryan Spiegel, and Julie Palakovich Carr attended in person and presented a ceremonial check in support of the clinic’s new dental program. Maryland Delegate Lily Qi (District 15), Montgomery County Councilmembers Sidney Katz, Andrew Friedson, Marilyn Balcombe, Kristin Mink, and Dawn Luedtke, as well as Board of Education President Julie Yang, Council Members from City of Gaithsburg, Mr. Yamli Herandez, Ms. Lisa Henderson and Council Members City of Rockville Barry Jackson.



In addition, representatives from the Office of Governor Wes Moore, Delegate April Delaney (District 6), County Executive Marc Elrich, and Councilmembers Laurie-Anne Sayles, Gabe Albornoz, and Evan Glass joined to offer their congratulations. Many partner organizations were present to celebrate, including Primary Care Coalition, Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI), Mercy Health Clinic, and Kaseman Clinic.


Longtime supporters such as Mr. Ted Schwab, Dr. Mo-Ping Show, and Mr. She, along with several CCACC board members, also joined the festivities. Following the ribbon cutting, more than 200 medical professionals and community supporters gathered for a lively appreciation and fundraising dinner at Han Spot, reinforcing the widespread recognition and momentum behind CCACC’s mission.


The expanded CCACC Health Center now offers primary care, mental health services, rehabilitation, dental services, and a community pharmacy, creating a true one-stop hub for community health.“This achievement would not be possible without everyone’s collective effort,” said CCACC Executive Director Rita Lewi. “It is another major milestone in our journey toward health equity, and we look forward to continuing to serve the community together.”
