Hepatitis B is a viral infection that affects the liver. It can be passed from person to person through childbirth (mother to infant) or s

haring of bodily fluids, like through needles or unprotected sex. It is NOT passed through DNA or through the sharing of food and utensils. Hepatitis B can be easily vaccinated against or treated with antiviral medicine, but still 1 in 10 Asian-Americans have Hepatitis B, with 25% of Asian HBV cases ending in total liver failure.

So why are Asians dying even though there is medicine available? It’s because ⅓ of Asians with Hepatitis are completely unaware. Think. Have you ever been tested or vaccinated against Hepatitis B? You could be in that ⅓, and you may have passed that onto your wife, husband, or children.

In May, we will provide free screening and vaccination to end Hepatitis B.

Call us 240-393-5950 for a free screening and vaccination
