20th Anniversaries & 2022 Volunteer Appreciation

Updated: Dec 7, 2022

On December 4, 2022, the clinic hosted its 2oth anniversary and annual volunteer appreciation event at CCACC Arts Gallery. Over 50 volunteers and staff attended this event.

The clinic started with volunteer initiation 20 years ago. Dr. Mo-Ping Chow, Dr. Hon-Yuen Wong, and Dr. Ling Yang started the clinic. In the first 15 years, we mainly serve uninsured, low-income Chinese-speaking patients. Since 2015, we start to credentialed with most insurance and serve those who are insured but still face obstacles to accessing health services due to language and culture barriers. Our service scope also expanded. Today, we become a one-stop comprehensive health service center providing primary care, rehab services, and mental health services. In addition, funded by local, state, and federal government, we are able to provide population-focused health services, such as the Hep B program, to address the health disparity facing Asian American population.

We can not do this without our volunteers. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were able to gather 150 volunteer healthcare providers to staff our weekend mass vaccine clinics. We also are grateful for the regular volunteers, including Dr. Mo-Ping Chow, Dr. Yao-Yao Zhu, Dr. Xiaoping Shao, Dr. Lei Xu, Dr. Veronica Yang, Dr. Cynthia Macri, Dr. Cixin Wang, Mr. Mike Wang, Mr. Simon Liu, and Bliss Zheng. Their support makes our operation during the Pandemic possible.

Thank you for being part of us to make this community healthier and happier!
