May is National Hepatitis B Awareness Month and Asian American Heritage Month. Hepatitis B is a common conditions that affect 1/8 of Asian born population. Left untreated, one fourth of Chronic hepatitis B patients can developed liver cancer and liver cirrhosis. CCACC Health Center provides free screening, vaccination and treatment for Hepatitis B.

About Our Speaker:
嚴偉明醫生畢業于中山大學。他曾在佛羅里達大學從事分子生物學的研究，並獲得博士學位。隨後在俄亥俄州立大學獲得了醫學博士的學位。他在喬治城大學完成了住院醫師的培训，然後在西維吉尼亞州大學完成了消化科專科的培訓。他先後在Medstar Health 和Lifebridge Health 從事消化科的醫療工作。他現在Frederick Gastroenterology工作。 他對胃酸回流，大腸癌，胃癌，食道癌和肝癌的檢測和治療, 幽門氏螺旋桿菌的治療, 乙肝及其丙肝的治療, 以及潰瘍性腸炎有特殊的興趣。
Dr. Weiming Ryan Yan graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from University of Florida. He then pursued medical training at Ohio State University and received his M.D. degree. He has finished Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University and Gastroenterology Fellowship at West Virginia University. He is board certified at Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has worked at Medstar Health and Lifebridge Health. Currently, he works at Frederick Gastroenterology. He is interested in GERD, screening and treatment for colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer and liver cancer, treatment for Helicobacter pylori, treatment for hepatitis B and hepatitis C, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.
